Mirror Mac to Apple TV

Hi - I have recently upgraded my Mac to miniStudio running Sonoma OS. Since then I can no longer Mirror to my TV via Apple TV (Model A469). Is there some incompatibility issue ?

It should work for most services. Some services might be blocked for AirPlay by a content provider, but that has nothing to do with OS version.

Prefer to use in-app AirPlay controls whenever offered (Apple TV app, QuickTime Player, Safari web video, Prime app).

Else use screen mirroring from macOS Control Center. Use AirPlay to stream what’s on your Mac to an HDTV - Apple Support

Start simple. Can you mirror the Desktop? Then AirPlay is functional.

Just an update on this - I contacted ABC Australia and they advised "Airplay is only supported by iOS mobile/tablet apps and not mirroring via a browser". This is something new as for years we successfully mirrored iView with our old IMAC.

Anyway, it sounds like an upgrade to 4th Gen Apple TV is the way to go. Thanks again for your assistance with this.

Thanks for your reply Urquhart1244. My explanation was probably not detailed enough - the mirroring works to the TV but when I play the video on demand (ABC IView in Australia) I get a black screen on the TV ... and I now realise also on my Mac. When I turn off Screen Mirror the content is visible on the Mac and plays normally. As you say perhaps it is a blocked content. I tried a different on demand video channel and it works fine.
