How can I mirror MacBook Pro to my TV?

hello everyone, lately I've been having this "choose to mirror or extend display from the menu" on my screen whenever I plug my macbook m1 pro 2021 to my tv, can you help me solve the issue

ps: my mac screen doesn't work, and the problem is of a recent occurence

How do I stop screen mirroring from MacBook Air to Apple TV? I often use mirror screening from my MacBook Air to my Apple TV to watch live various stream shows. I know how to turn it on, but when I am done mirroring, there used to be a way to turn it off by using Command-F1 (I Think) but that doesn't seem to work anymore for some reason. It doesn't take my laptop back to completely disconnected nor does it disconnect completely from the Apple TV. There may have been a change to this procedure since an update maybe? Mirror screening using wired connection I have used a lightening to hdmi adapter to mirror screen my MacBook Pro on many occasions but since I updated to Ventura it won't mirror I look at displays in system settings and I can't even click on "detect display" it does nothing. Used several different hdmi cables and two different adapters. Any ideas? The TV is old and I've never been able to connect wirelessly (although its on the same network as the MacBook)

you likely want to mirror.

otherwise, if you move the mouse too far, and cross the boundary in the direction of the built-in screen, it will move freely onto that [dead] screen. This will be quickly become annoying.
