My MacBook Air doesn't go to sleep when the lid is closed

Recently I noticed that my MacBook doesn't auto start when I open the lid for the first time , so I have to press the power button . I searched for a solution and I found out that I have to reset NVRAM in order to fix the issue , I did so but after that the problem is still there and the MacBook isn't sleeping when the lid is closed , can you help me with that and thank you . ( macOS Sonoma 14.2.1 )

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.2

Sounds like you may have a hardware issue with the laptop's sleep sensor or Lid Angle Sensor which will need to be repaired. You should have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop.
