Apple is saying my card on file for Apple Pay is expired, it’s not

That’s become a common issue over the last 10 days. The work around is to add another payment method using a four digit expiration date. Remove the problematic card. Restart iPhone. Add problematic card to account using four digit expiration date. Secondary payment method may be removed if desired.

There seems to be an ongoing issue with payment methods showing they have expired when they have not.

Other than verifying the payment method and waiting for Apple to resolve the issue, there is not much tat can be done at this point.

You have subscriptions on your account a card cannot be removed and then re-entered with having an alternate payment method on your account. Once you’ve corrected the date, you can delete/remove the alternate payment method/card.

How was this resolved? I have the recurring message about my card having an incorrect date and I can't remove it (because I need a payment method for a subscription) and I can't edit it (the date is not available in the editor).

I tried adding it again and noticed that when it asks for the date it asks for MM/YYYY, although previously it let me enter MM/YY. It saved that way and now I can't update it without borrowing another credit card.

Doesn't give me a lot of confidence in using Apple Pay to manage any sort of accounts and purchasing!!!

There doesn’t seem to be any way to update the date on the card.
