I cannot sign into Apple ID

I know my email associated with an old Apple ID. When I go to Iforgot.apple.com, it sends a 2-factor code to the phone number of the account. However, I no longer have that phone number, nor can I recall it. I've now had to create a new Apple ID with a new email, but I want to get me original email associated with my apple ID. How can I delete the old account to free up my email address?

Everything I've tried in the community recover forum takes me back in circles sending a code to a phone number that I no longer own. Thank you
