Since October 2023, the phone(XSMax) is unable to back up to iCloud, apple guys tried many things, but couldn't find a solution. This issue started after the software updation to iOS17 7later versions.

It appears you're conducting a manual iCloud backup. When performing this after an extended period without backup, it may understandably require more time to complete the entire process due to the accumulation of data over time.
I have the same issue, update to 17.4 does not fix it.
Since 5 weeks there was no automatic back up and forcing it does not help either.
It’s going up, up to 6 days and crashes.
Folks on the help line tried to help but without any success…
