Canon printer filter failed using MacBook

My new MacBook Pro will not print to my Canon MF269. I get a printer message "stopped...filter failed". When using my old MacBook the printer worked fine.

My Canon MG5420 will not connect with my MacBook Air running Venture 13.5. This Canon is on the AirPrint list that apple says will connect with my new computer. Every time I try to print I get a "filter" error. Can anyone help me resolve this?
