Ipod 5th generation model 1238 30gb

Does anyone have any idea what a Ipod 5th generation model 1238 30gb in black would be worth? I hear they are worth money but if I look online I see a wide range of prices.

It's worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

If the prices you see online are asking prices, the range of prices will depend upon:

    • the condition of the iPod as stated by the seller. Remember, the seller may be incorrect about its condition
    • how realistic the seller is about their asking price. A seller may be over-pricing or under-pricing it

So it's possible that the seller may think that the iPod is in better condition than it actually is (and pricing it too high for its condition) and may also be asking more than anyone is prepared to pay for one, even if it was in great condition

If the prices you see online are for items that have been sold but they have a wide range of prices, there can be three factors influencing the price:

    1. the condition of the device, as stated by the seller
    2. if it was sold at auction - how many people bid on the iPod, and effectively drove the price up
    3. if it was sold as a pre-priced iPod - then it's simply a matter of the buyer being prepared to pay that price

There is no quick or definite answer.
