Why did Apple deposit money to my bank account?

We received 3 of these checks (we had 3 iPhone 6's). I couldn't remember signing up for this either. Turns out it was from 2020.... Anyway, I googled it and got here, so am very pleased it's legit. I usually respond to most of these class action suits if I feel they are genuine. So great surprise!

I had the same issue the money got sent to my old bank account which is now closed I called my bank to confirm the deposits they said there were 5 deposits of 92 dollars but got sent back as non payable so they told me to contact apple and when I did she gave me the website from the original claim form and go to contact us on the website, the phone number does nothing but tell you about the settlement but there was an email which I emailed and asked how can I get my money if my account is closed I haven’t gotten a response back but I asked in the email if I could get a check sent to my address as that’s the same so hopefully I get the same reply that says a check will be sent

you provided your info when the lawsuit first came out. check your email from 2020. they don’t have access to your bank info unless you gave it to them.

Class action lawsuit regarding batteries! I had forgotten all about it!

ive been reading about the $92 Apple settlements. Wish mine was direct deposited bc they sent me a check and now my bank has an 11 day hold on the thing!! I’m beyond angry, I’ve never had this happen, should’ve just cashed the **** thing. I was counting on that to be in my account right away or the next day 🤬🤬

I forgot all about this! I didn’t know until chime told me there was an attempted deposit into my closed checking account and it was returned to sender. Anyone have any clue if it would be possible for me to get that sent to my current account/who I would need to contact?

I 100% forgot about the lawsuit...I opened a Chime account in 2020 to get my direct deposit faster, and just use Cash App as an intermediary to move half of my checks to my Citi account. However, I don't recall giving them my routing/account number, nor any settlement having that info...but my roommates somehow lose my mail sometimes, so worked out! I was going to say "oh they got my info from my Apple Pay" but they only have my Debit card's info...weird.

I received the $92.17 deposit too last week. A bit concerning since there was no explanation of the deposit! This should've been handled more professionally. Amazing how Apple knew my checking account number so quickly!

This is amazing. Came on the heels of a different apple class action suit payout about device replacement that had a second distribution (first one was in Sept. 2022 for $14 and change)... I was so confused and like - did they screw up? I never gave them my bank info... so strange. Thanks for the update!!

It's weird because I'm not sure how they go my bank account info. I usually pay for everything via credit card. I did have multiple iphones, I'm guessing the payments are tied to apple id's and the phone. I'll have to check with my wife to see if something hit her inbox or account.
