I have three new documents in a folder on iCloud. Each of them have the word "Error" under thier filenames. What does this mean and how to I fix it?

I had the folder on the desktop, so I don't know if that is the problem. I returned the folder to the iCloud via Finder. That is when I first noted the "Error" notation. I have restarted my MacBook Air, but it remains the same.

Error message in Finder stating folder can’t be open because original item can’t be found. A few of my folders are getting the same message. It says they can’t be opened because the original item can’t be found. I don’t know what that means and I don’t know where my information went.
