Hi,

How to fix error code -36

  1. Go to Applications > Utilities.
  2. Double-click Terminal to launch it.
  3. Type dot_clean.
  4. In the Finder, navigate to the folder that contains the files you were trying to copy, move, or delete.
  5. Drag the folder onto the Terminal window after the command you just typed.

error -36 is I/O Error.

That sounds generic, but is actually very specific. it says that there is one or more Bad disk Block in a file you are reading, and even after retrying it 1,000 times using error correction hardware, it would not come clean.

That copy of that file is no longer readable.

dot_clean is the solution for files that have become dis-associated with their data fork components. it will not solve the problem here.
