Apple Music Lossless downloads show a "Lossless" tag next to album name/artist, but imported CDs do not

I am using Mac OS Sonoma 14.3, original issue M1 Mac mini and an external DAC connected via USB. When I import CD's using Apple Lossless Encoder, all files import fine. If I get info for any individual song, under the file tab, it is showing up correctly, Lossless with bit rate, bit size and sampling size all showing as expected. However, next to the Album Name/Artist, there is no indication of the album being "Lossless". If I download an album (which is tagged with Lossless before I download it), no problem, it shows the Lossless tag where it should be.

Is this just the way it works or am I doing something wrong? In the get info > file tab for the downloaded file, it only shows as lossless, no bit rate, bit size or sampling size.

Hi,

There is no lossless indicator for music imported into your library. However, music downloaded from your Apple Music subscription will be tagged as lossless or hi-res. No additional information info will be shown.

I suggest that you provide feedback for enhancements Feedback - Apple Music - Apple
