My iPhone 14's battery health is deteriorating too fast

i am currently using iphone 14 from past 2.5 months and my battery health has reduced to 97% i charge it till 80% only and even keep it in an open and cool environment for charging still it heats and the health has soo drastically reduced soo fast

I dont know why is it happening but i think apple should work on heating issues in their devices and also check their batteries in this case

Your battery health is fine and is undergoing normal usage. iPhone batteries, like all rechargeable batteries, are consumable components that become less effective as they age. You should change out the battery once your Battery Health reaches below 80% which will take over 2 years to reach under normal usage. Until then enjoy your iPhone.

Your iPhone 14 will get warm as it charges. It may even get hot at times depending on ambient conditions and the level of charge applied. All this is normal. If your iPhone gets too hot to operate then it will shut down as a safety precaution. If it has not shut down then it is not overheating and operating / charging normally.

If your iPhone 14 gets too hot to touch then you can have it examined at the Apple Store or at an Authorized Service Center and take advantage of the 1YR Limited Warranty from Apple.

No it is not unusual. The battery is expected to last about 2 years before it gets down to 80% Capacity and at that time a replacement is recommended by Apple. That is about an average of 1% degradation of battery capacity per month. You are about within that rate window.

Also note that there is no set way a battery capacity reading can be taken at regular intervals by the iPhone. There are times when several weeks can pass without a notified change.
