You can not connect a display via USB-C to a 2014 Mac mini.

There are alternate solutions, if the display has other types of inputs.

The Thunderbolt 2 ports can double as Mini DisplayPorts.

It appears that they can support resolutions of up to 2560x1600 pixels – the resolution of the old 30" Apple Cinema Display.
