From our home when we enter a destination it sends us in the wrong direction, how to correct this error?

From our home when we enter a destination it sends us in the wrong direction. To go from Queensbury, NY to Albany NY, car play instead of sending us east to the Northway (I-87) south to Albany, NY it sends us west to a road that does not go to Albany, NY, This is very frustrating because if we ignore the direction suggested when we enter the Northway south to Albany it automatically resets and provides us with the correct directions. This happens no matter what destination we enter, it sends us in the opposite direction, I hope someone can help....Thanks

You should have the option to report a problem in maps; report a route issue.

Report an incident in Maps on your iPhone - Apple Support

There could be any number of issues including road closures that were never cleared, being located (or seeing the phone's location) different than actual location, data issues (one-way streets that became 2-way), etc. I can enter the same destination and get two different routes depending on which side of my apartment complex I get directions.

If you follow the route, or look at the step-by-step, does it eventually match with the way that you know to go? It might just be routing you around traffic.

Unfortunately all your explanations are not applicable to the direction errors, no road closures or one way street changes plus the phone location shows our exact home location. Our son who visits us enters this home address on his iPhone when he leaves, the directions tell him to go to Interstate 87 as he heads south towards Albany, NY. This just baffles us as it does this whenever we enter an address, it sends us in the wrong direction...sad...
