While installing fb I was asked for credit card said I will not be billed unless I make a purchase I used a card that was locked tried to charge a fee for a app I’m no longer using

Update a free app with a payment method Why do I need a payment method to update or reinstall a free app? The app is completely free to use, unless I choose to buy an in app purchase. I never bought anything but I still need a payment method to update the app. I don’t have money on that card anymore, but when I try to remove it, it says “your payment method was declined.” What should I do?

Press download app Apple asked for payment method I give them one they say this one's already on file and they have used it recently they refuse to download a free app what if I don't want my card on your file but if I just want to download the app why do you have to have a payment method for a free app it seems like extortion
