How to add sbcglobal.net email to MacBook Air mail

i have not been able to add my AT&T email with sbcglobal.net extension to my MacBook Air. If used other email and yahoo but it states my email account is not recognized. Anyone have the specific instructions to do this? I do use this email on my iPhone and iPad.

All I can suggest is following these instructions: Add email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support


If an sbcglobal.net email account already exists on that Mac, delete that Mail Account according to Log out of or remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support. Don't just disable it or turn it off — delete the account (assuming one exists). Then, try adding it again.


Be sure to read the Important note:


Important: If you’re unsure whether messages you want to keep are still on the mail server, move or copy them to a mailbox stored on your Mac (the mailbox appears in the On My Mac section in the Mail sidebar) before you remove the account in Mail.
