Screen bleed-through in Full Screen mode

When showing a photo in Full Screen mode, there is bleed-through of screens from other apps.

The bleed-through occurs mainly at the top of the Photos screen, with some bleed-through at the sides.

Any fixes to eliminate screen bleed-through?

That's interesting-- I don't see that. I tried putting a bright image from another app behind a picture in Photos, moved the picture around, and I didn't see any effects of the background. There is some transparency in the surrounding frame. I could reduce that in System Settings: I opened the settings under the Apple, and entered Transparency into the search box. It lead me to an Accessibility setting to reduce transparency, and that worked.

Maybe that will work for you. Let us know...

It seems odd to me that this is happening in Full Screen mode. There's really nothing behind the window, then, to bleed through. What computer are you using? Is is possible that what you are seeing is actually something on the screen, itself, like burn in from long term use? What does the screen look like when the computer is off? Or just before it shuts down and the there is a dim "raster" on the screen?

Try these things:

  • Restart the computer (of course!)
  • Start in Safe Mode (different for different computers) This bypasses certain potentially disruptive processes and solves many problems like this.

Does the problem still appear in Safe Mode?

I checked 'Reduce transparency' in Accessibilty/Vision/Display.

It helps some, but doesn't fix my problem.

The top of my desktop picture image is what is bleeding through to my photos in Full Screen mode.

I just noticed this recently. It's a new issue, I didn't have this problem before.

The bleed-through is especially noticeable in a portrait photo that is centered between black areas on each side of the portrait photo. The black areas seem to be thin and not a deep black.
