iPad flashes pink then restarts

Hi guys…

I recently bought an iPad 10th gen (USB-C) and I’ve been mostly loving it. Recently I noticed an issue when I try copy photos from my camera (connect the camera as a USB device to a USB-A to USB-C adapter) the iPad either simply says the folder is empty or will sometimes flash pink then restart. When I have a very few number of photos (All in RAW thus around 20MB per photo) it works but as the number of photos climbs it results in one of the two issue. It’s not the camera or adapter as it works perfectly with my Windows PC using the same adapter.

anyone else have a similar issue and have any idea how to fix it?
