switching iMac user.
I am switching my iMac from my wife to myself...how do I remover her data without impacting her data on her other devices?

Assuming your wife is using iCloud for syncing her data and files to her other devices, you would simply sign her out of her Apple ID on the iMac. When you do this you will be asked if you want to keep a copy of her iCloud data on the iMac. You don't. She will still have access to that from her other device(s).

After she is signed out you can then decide what to do with her User account on the Mac; leave it in place for possible user later or delete/remove it by using the Users & Groups System Settings.
