No Service on iPhone 5

Hello.

I am in need of my old iPhone 5 temporarily...it's a long story.

When I put my SIM card (LTE service with Verizon) into the iPhone 5 and restart it, (it needs a restart to detect the SIM card) it says "Searching" for a few seconds and goes to No Service. From what I've read, the iPhone 5 is compatible with LTE service.

There are no new carrier updates that I can find, and this article (If you see No Service, Searching, or SOS on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support) does not help.

Any help?

Regards,

Not all LTE is the same. There are three different models of the iPhone 5. Each supports a different handful of LTE frequency bands. It's possible that the phone you have does not support any of the LTE bands provided by your carrier in your area. The iPhone 5 also does not support any of the "newer" LTE bands.
