Impossible to reset Apple ID security questions?

Hello,

i know my Apple ID login and password, i have no problem to login to iCloud or iTunes but if i want to manage my apple account via appleid.apple.com i am asked to answer to security questions that unfortunately i forgot (i created my account in 2011).

At the bottom of the field i am asked if "Forgot your answers?" and asked if i want to "Reset Security Questions". And if i click that link that link i am redirected to a page which is asking me to "Answer one of the questions you chose when you created your Apple ID".

This is not logic at all !! How can answer a question that i am trying to reset because i have forgot ?!

Now and because i have tried many times a wrong answer i get the message "Cannot Reset Security Questions, We don't have sufficient information to reset your security questions.

Any help is welcome

You can try the directions in this support article If you forgot the answers to your Apple ID security questions - Apple Support

but note that the article is labeled "archived" and may contain information that is out of date.

If you cannot reset the security questions (e.g., “not enough information”) then realize that several years ago Apple transitioned to using to two factor authentication instead of security questions. Apple has since been persistently encouraging users to switch to the newer security system and your next recourse may be to try to change to two factor authentication as outlined in this article --> Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support Follow the instructions in the section "Turn on two-factor authentication for your Apple ID"

If that does not work, contact Apple ID support at this link ➞ https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=cups&PGF=PGF63005

Select "Other Apple ID Topics", then "Security concerns or account compromised." This will give you a chat or telephone call option.

Apple has for all practical purposes discontinued supporting security questions. They have been pretty persistent about getting people to change to two factor. If you have been ignoring them and questions work, then fine. If not, then you have to be able to prove to Apple using their accepted means that you are the true owner of the account. If you cannot do that then you lose access to the account.

Good luck.

After login at getsupport, as main issue i selected Forgot Security Questions.

Then for support options, Reset Your Security Questions.

This redirect me to https://iforgot.apple.com/ae/en/password/verify/appleid#!&section=password

After login, i am prompted to select which information i would like to reset.

Of course I have select my **security questions**.

Then i am asked to enter my password.

At the end i get the message :

"Cannot reset security questions

We do not have sufficient information to reset your security questions."

Does not work because you can't enable two factor authentication without answering to security questions.

If I sign in to my iCloud account, i am prompted to upgrade my security by using two factor authentication. If i accept to upgrade my Apple ID security, i am prompted to answer the questions which i have forgot.

So I have to cancel and don't upgrade my account security to be able to use iCloud. Which is again ilogic !!

I will contact Apple ID support and report back here.

Thank you for your reply and help.

I am very concerned about security. 2FA is not new for me, it is already enabled for me everywhere at the exception for Apple which has never notified me about it.

Even it is not to me to prove something, i can prove it but not in this way. Can Apple prove that i am not the owner?

The system deals with us in the following way. "On your birthday, was it sunny or rainy? If you don't (and you will not) know, so YOU are not YOU." or "You have lost the keys to your home, you are not the owner of this house until you prove it. But we can help you if you provide us with the documents. Ahhh sorry we can't help you because the documents are at the home that you can't access so you are NOT the owner".

I cannot understand how you give me the ability to update information that I told you I forgot, and then ask me to give you the information so that I can update it.

Who script kiddie created this sequence? Something is missing until the circle is complete.

Apple's, please correct me if I'm wrong.

@Limnos Thanks again for your time and help.
