How to keep Apple Watch series 6 on while running apps

Hi there,

I recently purchased an Apple Watch 6 and whenever I leave my wrist down for a bit, the watch immediately goes to the lock screen despite having Always On on. I noticed that whenever my wrist is down as well, that the screen goes into a power saver mode and any movement on the screen stops/freezes until i touch the screen or move my wrist up. Is there any way to turn this function off and just leave the screen on without the freezing or my home screen popping up?

Try the following one at a time:

1) Ensure that Theatre Mode is set to OFF. You can double check this setting in the Apple Watch’s Control Center.

2) Toggle the Always ON switch to OFF and then back to ON again.

3) On your Apple Watch - Try and Force ReStart your Apple Watch as indicated below:

  • Hold down the side button and Digital Crown at the same time. The Digital Crown is the rotating button located on the side of the device.
  • Keep holding these two buttons down until you see the Apple logo appear on the screen.

Nope, none of that worked. The Watch still froze when I put my hand down and after a short period of time reverted back to the screen stopping movement and then back to the home screen. Is there anything else I can try to do or do I need to keep my wrist up at all available times when using it if I don't want it to turn off?

EDIT:

Nevermind, I think I found a solution in the return to clock face option in settings. Instead of two minutes I reverted it to an hour for the app i'm using.
