does apple warranty start from the date you activated or the date you purchase? I see some new devices with please activate your device while some will show few months left out of the warranty period. When exactly does apple warranty start reading.

Is iPhone warranty 1 year from the date of purchase? I purchased my iPhone 15 Pro on 5th of October 2023 from Srilanka. It was a brand-new seal pack phone and after setting up the phone I just went and checked the coverage details from the mobile itself but it is showing as the warranty will expire on 21st of September 2024. How could this happen because it should show 1 year from the date of purchased if I'm correct. Please need your support!! [Re-Titled by Moderator]

The purchase date is the start date for the warranty, when buying from Apple directly, unless you pre-order a device that will be introduced in a few days or weeks.

It may be different for other resellers, but it shouldn’t be determined by device activation, unless that is the only date known in Apple’s administration.
