Its a little bit strange to me , because its even not activated yet . I heard before ,that the apple products warranty is starting when you first activate it - not before …
Sounds like you bought a gray market device from an unauthorized retailer.
Return it and get your money back. The warranty starts when the phone is originally sold by Apple or an authorized retailer, not when it’s activated.
The warranty starts on the first day of original purchase from an authorized dealer. If your warranty ends in January 2024, that would indicate that it was originally purchased in January 2023.
