Avid Media Composer on Macbook Air M2

I am on a limited budget and plan to buy a Macbook Air M2 with 16 GB unified RAM and 512 GB hard disk space. Is it enough to run Avid Media Composer for video editing? I am a student so mostly for practice and occasional freelance projects.

is a M1/M2 MacBook Air with 16GB RAM enough for running Premiere Pro I’m currently using a 2020 intel 13’ MBA (base model with 8GB RAM)for college work and some light graphic design work with illustrator, but have recently started to edit HD and 4K videos with premiere pro cc for an internship job, which my MBA could not handle. I am now looking to upgrade to either a new M1 or M2 MBA. Getting a MBP is out of the question, as my budget is limited. I was thinking to upgrade to 16GB RAM for either the M1/M2 MBA, and was wondering if 1) such a setup will be enough for at least HD video editing work on premiere pro cc, and 2) if the performance between M1 and M2 is worth paying extra money for it. If the extra info helps, I do need to use graphic animation templates in video editing, but usually video length won’t exceed 5 minutes. Would appreciate any help!

New Mac Studio Configuration Best configuration without breaking the bank to run primarily Lightroom Classic, Photoshop and to some degree Resolve Studio and Priere Pro. Could M4 work or need M3 Max? How much RAM for optimal performance. I run a BenQ 4K HDR momitor and an old delll HD. Also blackmagic 4k device. Coming from 2019 MacPro with Dual radeon and 256gb ram

depends on what kind of video editing you want to do. The MacBook Air does not feature active cooling, so when rendering long, professional 4K projects it can take a while longer, because the performance of the MacBook Air when performing long, heavy tasks will go down a bit to prevent it from overheating

But most of the times with not very huge projects the MacBook Air will do just fine.Just remember that the lack of active cooling (a fan) can be an issue with heavier workloads. But I have to say: I have a MacBook Pro and I never heard the fans kicking in. So the passive cooling must be rather good.
