Shuffle songs option on playlist
On my old ipod nano there was an option at the top of a playlist to shuffle the songs. On the nano 3rd generation, is that option available?

From what I can tell, Shuffle is on the Settings menu. Also on the Settings menu is a Main Menu option, where you can add Shuffle to the main menu. It is there, somewhere.
Have a look at this YouTube video (if Apple allow it to stay in the post): Apple 3rd gen iPod review. Go to about 5 minutes 45 seconds onwards for a bit about the Shuffle option.

I have a 4th generation nano (i think), and if you go into a playlist and pull it down a shuffle option appears.
I have recently bought a 3rd generation nano as the battery and headphone jack on my other ipad are on the way out. I was wondering if the 3rd genration would be able to do the same. I can't see/find anything
I owned an iPod Classic, but it's so long since I last looked at its menus that I struggle to remember the exact layout. It should come as no surprise therefore that I don't know either the 3rd or 4th generation nano well enough to tell you any more, so there's little more I can do except offer the following suggestions:
I would expect so. Are you asking because you have a nano, but cannot find the option?
I'm asking because I have looked through all the settings menus on the ipod and can't see it, but I know sometimes these option are hidden so I'm wondering
