Stuck mailbox

My junk mailbox on my iPhone 12 is stuck on “checking for mail”. It shows I have 100 emails but when I open the mailbox it is empty.

iPhone13 Mail content loading very slowly/not at all. My iPhone has been working perfectly but since the last update (16.4) it will not download the content of an email sometimes at all, or occasionally exceptionally slowly. My (much older) MacBook Air does not have this problem and is working off the same wifi. I have plenty of memory left on my phone. I've tried a hard re-start and have deleted temporary internet files but nothing is working.

Email on ipad My mail app is not loading properly. Also is freezing then closing. Mail is working fine on my iPhone. Is it possible to delete and reinstall mail app on iPad Pro?
