How to integrate gmail into the Mail app?

I clicked on Adding an Account, picked Google, but will not go through, because I have to log into Apple. (According to the dropdown menu) Maybe there is another way to do it?

The integration all the other accounts went trouble free. I have the screenshot.

Many times this problem is associated with 2 factor authentication issues. Here's a link that might help you out.

I have the exact same problem. Called Apple support and they were no help and I continue to get the 400 ERROR. Do you get this same error? And my iPhone has all my email accounts setup but my Mac will not work.

This is what I get continually on my Mac. My phone is synced but my Mac will not. Called apple support and they had me delete my gmail account on apple mail. Did that, now I cannot add the account back and get this error. This is killing my charity.

I even turned off my 2 factor authentication and it still does not work and get the 400 ERROR. And my phone is syncing fine, no problems there. it is only with my Mac.
