Apparently, you don't need to do anything. Apple says it will be installed automatically when the keyboard is connected to your mac.

It would be done automatically.

Though it is not clear to me if this would be issued independent from Other Security Updates to macOS / iOS

I can say with great certainty my Magic Keyboard from Apple is running the 2.0.6 Firmware

To check your system

Go >> Utilities >> System Information

Go in sidebar Bluetooth and check

The Article you are mentioning makes no reference as to what version of macOS it applies to, be it Sonoma., Ventura or Monterey

Luis is correct. You can check to see if it's been installed using System Information in the Utilities folder.

Do you happen to know how to update this same firmware when using an iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard? I am not finding anywhere that lists the keyboard Firmware version on the iPad.

I am still at 0.5.0 so there must be something wrong with apple's "automatic" update
