Sound Dropout in OS Mojave

I'm resisting upgrading to Catalina because I'm still using my old Adobe Photoshop CS6. When using any source with sound, I notice a momentary dropout and then is comes back. This happens when streaming, playing music from iTunes, etc. The specifics of my system are as follows:

Model Name: Mac Pro

 Model Identifier: MacPro5,1

Processor Name: 6-Core Intel Xeon

Processor Speed: 3.33 GHz

Number of Processors: 1

Total Number of Cores: 6

L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB

L3 Cache: 12 MB

Hyper-Threading Technology: Enabled

Memory: 64 GB

Boot ROM Version: 144.0.0.0.0

SMC Version (system): 1.39f5

SMC Version (processor tray): 1.39f5

Hardware UUID: E413DA22-B247-5E68-B0A2-E194DD0DB617

Available: 641.02 GB (641,019,092,992 bytes)

Capacity: 2 TB (2,000,054,960,128 bytes)

I'm wondering why this is suddenly and issue since I have not changes my system or downloaded anything in a while.

I use my internal speakers.

Any thoughts?

It may be wise to run SMART Utility to check the drives' health.

Wow, thanks so much.I'm a bit hesitant to remove CleanMyMac since I use it all the time and I just bought it. I searched for Avira and I couldn't find it? Wonder if there are pieces of it left over fram deleting it years ago.

Anyways, I really appreciate all of your help and hope to report back soon after I clean up some of the things you suggested.
