Received Apple Security alert and iMac is locked up.

Received Apple Security alert and iMac is locked up. Cannot close screens or access the computer. Says not to shut down. Want me to call a number but do not trust it. How can I get rid of this hack? Any suggestions?

It's a scam. There's nothing wrong with your Mac, and there is no hack. Besides that, there is no such thing as Apple Security.

There's always a way out of these childishly bad fake notices. It just depends where you're seeing it. If it's a popup or page in Safari or other web browser, simply go up to the top menu bar and close the app.

Sorry, but its hard to help with so little detail.

Where are you seeing this message exactly?

What hack?

What security Alert?

Are you even certain the alert is actually from Apple? It may just be a scam.

If this is just a web page showing this, then exactly what can't you do?

What happens if you press command +Q on your keyboard?

Remember we cannot see what you see, so you need to very clear and precise about what is happening.
