Why isn’t my iCloud account recognised by Microsoft Authenticator when it begin recovery of iCloud backup?

I need help with recovering iPhone data related to MS Authenticator App. iPhone lost data due to forgotten new passcode within 72 hours. After re-downloaded App (lost after login even though iPhone didn’t alert me reset data), I login but Microsoft Authenticator list only my primary Microsoft Account. 


On iPhone, after open the Authenticator app, 

(1)  selected Begin recovery, my primary account turned out not where backup had been. 

(2) Thinking backup were on my other personal accounts, I added them but App no longer ask for Begin Recovery. 

(3) Noticing iCloud Backup is off, I turned it on but didn’t continue because there is already an recent iCloud backup as following App alert “There is already a backup on your iCloud account on another device.”

 

Why don’t Authenticator App recognise my iCloud account? 




  1. Sign in to your recovery account using the personal Microsoft account you used during the backup process. Your account credentials are recovered to the new device.

First, Verify iCloud Backup Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Backup on your iPhone.
  • Ensure iCloud Backup is enabled.
  • Check that Microsoft Authenticator is listed under Apps Using iCloud. If not, toggle it on.


Then Try this :

  • Ensure that you are using the latest version of the Microsoft Authenticator app. Go to the App Store, search for Microsoft Authenticator, and check for any available updates.
  • Confirm that you are using the correct Apple ID and password for your iCloud account. If you have changed your password recently, make sure to update it on your iPhone.
  • Sign out of your iCloud account, Microsoft Authenticator, and any other relevant accounts on your iPhone. Then, sign back into each account.
  • Go to Settings > General > iPhone Storage > Microsoft Authenticator and tap Delete App. Reinstall the app from the App Store.
  • Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage > Backups. Make sure that the Microsoft Authenticator app is included in your iCloud backups. If not, enable it.
  • If none of the above steps work, you may try resetting your iCloud settings on your iPhone. This won't delete your data but may help resolve any configuration issues. Go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.

Is it possible to list Apps registered with a iCloud account? I used to have two devices with different Apple accounts but now has only one account. The Microsoft Authentication App I am having issue with may or may not be registered under my current Apple account.

I thought Apple Tech Support merged both Apple Accounts but after reset of a device and download all Apps, Microsoft Authentication App has no data. When I turn on its iCloud setting to recover backup, there isn’t recover option but just overwrite option. Message is “There is already a backup on your iCloud account on another device.”
