Apple pencil not pairing, connecting or charging

I bought an apple pencil 2 days ago and i plug it into my iPad. The pairing pop up appears and i click allow, but nothing happens. I tried this several times but it didn't work. I tried it again and it worked but it keeps disconnecting and connecting. In 30sec it shows it is 100%, but when i take it out to use it, it says disconnected. When i plug it back in again it says 0%. I charged it all night with a wire, but it didn't work. It said 0% in the morning. I have heard of heating it up with a hot water bottle but i am not sure if it safe to do that
