Do MacBook Pro have cell conection
If I travel cross country, can I connect to a cell service? Or has that option been removed from laptops?

There is no cellular option on a MacBook Pro. If you have an iPhone (or an iPad with cellular) you can connect your Mac to them for internet service as described in Use Instant Hotspot to connect to your Personal Hotspot without entering a password - Apple Support

Apple offers iPads with 4G LTE that is locked into certain cell carriers data services. Their Macbook laptops do not have any built-in cellular option.
Many carriers also offer a USB Cellular dongle to attach to your laptop to utilize their data services on your laptop. Ask your carrier if they make one for the USB on your Mac.

There are some PC laptops for which cellular data modems are an option – but Apple never built laptops with them built-in.
