Sum an hours & minutes column

A column has results in “Duration”

format, such as “4:30”, “3:45” etc.

I’m having trouble creating a cell formula or function that would sum them. (The intended use is to total the hours worked per week.)

This seems like it might require converting the hours:minutes to just minutes, summing them, and then converting back to hours:minutes? Or something like that?

Any help much appreciated by this near-total newbie.
