Using old Mac to upload music on new Mac

Hey! I have this old Mac (2011) right next to my brand new Mac. The old one uses iTunes and the new one uses the Music App. I subscribe to Apple Music and have space on the cloud too. I'm trying to figure out how to use my old Mac (well, the cd-dvd drive, anyway!) to copy cds and transfer them to my library on the new Mac. It's probably easy, but I just want to make sure I do the right thing. And yes, I know I could buy an external drive and connect it to my new Mac, but prefer not to! Thanks!

If you have Apple Music subscription, you can rip CDs on you old computer, add them to music to get them matched or uploaded. If you are ripping as ALAC, I suggest that you use an external drive.
