Importing iTunes Library into Apple Music on Monterey

Trying to import an .itl file from Mojave iTunes into Monterey Apple Music. I keep getting an alert that it "does not appear to be a valid library. I've seen several recommendadtion from folks saying I need to find someone running Big Sur or Catalina to convert the .itl file... but I don't know anyone running Big Sur or Catalina... so I'm kinda stuck. I've manually migrated all music & album art to Apple Music folder, but just cant get it to import the library. Help?

Hi. You don't import the .itl file, you hold down option as you launch Music and then select the .itl file to convert it to the Music format. The common problem with Monterey is that this process just stalls indefinitely. I've successfully converted around 100 or so libraries for other people. My email address is in my user profile here. You can drop me a link to your library in iCloud Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox or similar and I will try doing the same for you. If you've been using the option-start-Music method to access the .itl file then there is a chance that it really is corrupt. If you have a recent backup of the .itl from a slightly older date it may be worth trying that one too. If your Mojave system is still running press and hold down option+cmd as you launch iTunes, which opens it in its safe mode and may do some housekeeping, then close iTunes and give it a few minutes before copying the file to your cloud location to ensure it has finished saving.

Thank you! The 'safe mode' on Mojave iTunes fixed the file corruption issue... that was a huge tip. Since I still had the indefinite hang-up when opening the library in Monterey/Music, I installed Big Sur onto a volume partition. That version of Music opened the .itl file immediately. So I copied the new Music Library file to a USB drive and placed it inside the Music/Music folder... and viola! There's all my tunes and playlists as they were before. But... now most of my album artwork is incorrect. A few months back I had made corrections to these in iTunes... manually loading in correct artwork an album at a time. I manually migrated all album artwork along with the music files... so I don't understand how/why these are broken/wrong again. Any advice?
