price of screen repair

a couple of months ago i got a used iphone x from a family member. i took it in the shower a few times and kappot! the screen looks like an old static tv. i wanted to get it fixed but apple was gonna charge me $855 for a simple screen repair! does anyone know of any other places that will fix it for cheaper? because there is no way i would pay that much for a phone that i got for free

Once you took it in the shower and you let the iPhone X get wet, then it was destroyed internally. It is not the screen that has failed but it is also the logic board and other components that are affected by liquid damage. It is more than the screen and therefore Apple would just replace the entire iPhone and that justifies the cost that you posted.
