Imac 10.10.5 (21.5 inch, late 2012)

I can log into my apple id online but not via system preferences>icloud. It won't even let me sign out of icloud. I have updated my password and it keeps saying incorrect password, rendering the imac useless. There are no software updates available in applications.

Hey there!

Good news! Your Mac can be upgraded to macOS Catalina 10.15. This will allow you to use newer versions of most third-party apps and allow your Apple ID to function properly.

To upgrade, visit the Apple Support article How to download and install macOS - Apple Support, and under the "Use the App Store" section, choose to download Catalina 10.15.

Note: Before installing new software, it's a good idea to back up your Mac. If you have an external storage device, you can use it to back up your Mac with Time Machine.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions!

Maybe your previous purchases have been hidden?

The App Store application is the starting point for reinstalling your apps. Launch the App Store app then click the Store menu > View My Account you will be presented with the Account window showing "Purchased". There are two options at the top right of that window; View Information and Redeem Gift Card.

If you click View Information you will be prompted to enter your Apple ID and password. The Account Information window will now appear and you will see a section called Hidden Items. You'll see Manage Devices and Hidden Purchases. Click Manage next to that and see if your previous purchases are hidden. If so, simply click Unhide and then click Done.

And btw, the iTunes app is no longer. I believe is became simply the Music app in Catalina. Just sayin'. If your app is still named iTunes, then there's something bigger going on.

When you log in to the App Store, you'll see your Account icon at the lower left of the window. Click that and you should locate "Purchased" applications, including your previously purchased version of Pages. From there you will be offered a chance to download a compatible version.

You must be logged in using the same Apple ID that you previously used to purchase that app.
