Transferring two desktops from two different MacBooks

So my wife and I have historically had our own lap tops but recently got a new MacBook. We are trying to consolidate both of our computers. I initially did a data transfer from my computer and then created a profile for her. The new computer is effectively a clone of my old now. Question ultimately is can a do a second data transfer of my wife's data to the computer as well but onto a second profile. I just don't want to lose all my other data from the previous transfer? The old computers are first or second gen MacBook air's and transferring to a new generation MacBook Air. Much appreciate your help!

Yes, you can transfer user data from that second MacBook Air to your new computer.

Use Migration Assistant and transfer only her user account and personal files. Don't transfer applications, system or network settings.

You'll find guidance for that here: Transfer to a new Mac with Migration Assistant - Apple Support
