iPhone photos corrupt and unreadable after transfer

Live pictures (IOS 17) downloaded to Windows10 desktop are transferred as .mov.

Windows10 does not seem to have the right mime for headers on these files and they

are marked as corrupt and will not play.

Workaround: Change the file extension from .mov to .jpg and you can see the photo,

but it no longer plays as a movie like it does on iphone. :0 :(

Is there a better solution? new mime? different file type?

Windows may not have the proper codec for reading this type of mov file.

Go to https://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and download and install VLC media player. It has lots of built-in codes and may be able to play those files.

VLC is free and contains no nagware, spyware, ads, etc. It's been around for years and is very reliable.
