Logitech Combo Touch / iPad 10th Gen ~ CAPS and SPACE bar stops working

I am having the same issues described by @Waterspark69 as described below. I bought my new iPad a couple of days prior to January 6th and the Logitech Combo Touch on the 6th. I used it all of 5-6 times between the 6th and the 14th. I never dropped it or damaged it.


On the morning of January 14th I noticed the SPACE bar, CAPS button, and trackpad weren’t working. I thought perhaps the key was stuck but it wasn’t. I disconnected the keyboard and I rebooted the iPad, these yielded no positive results. I read somewhere (Reddit I think) to check the OS version of the iPad and the firmware version of the keyboard. I downloaded the Logitech app and attempted to update the firmware several times to no avail. It kept saying “something went wrong,” and to “try again.” It’s as if the contacts between the iPad and keyboard were not making good contact.


During each attempt, I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard. Finally, I pressed the QWE + option keys within the Logitech app keypad, which shows up on the screen, and the update firmware bar went from being greyed out to green (which was also a good suggestion I found on YouTube). I was successful in upgrading my firmware and double-checked the iPad OS but it was fully updated to 17.2. Still the problem persisted.


Frustrated, I returned the Logitech Combo Touch to Best Buy with the full intention of buying the Apple Folio Keyboard Combo instead. Unfortunately, they were out. I wound up replacing it with the same Logitech Combo Touch and I noticed when I connected it in the store it worked! I left happy and used the two together the rest of the evening without any problems.


This morning, however, same issues happened again; the trackpad works but the SPACE bar and CAPS key do not. I am leaning towards a firmware/software incompatibility problem or perhaps a contacts issue. I’m trying to see if the fit of the screen cover is slightly too thick possibly causing the contacts to barely meet. 🤷🏻‍♂️


I am at a loss. Any help is appreciated,
