Blacked out websites / Mojave-Safari

I am have a problem with various websites where I choose a site, it quickly shows and then a black page scrolls down replacing the actual site. This only happens in Safari forcing me to jump over to Firefox or Chrome. The first screenshot is for Safari and the second from Firefox.Same site (Costco) and same product (iPad). Is anyone else having this issue?
