Can LostMode prevent other people from going into my lost iPhone?

I want to place my iphone on lost mode cos it is lost, but i am suspecting that the person that took it knows my passcode. Can LostMode prevent the person from going into my iphone?

Here is what you will want to do: Find your lost iPhone or iPad with Find My - Apple Support

See the section “If your iPhone or iPad is lost permanently or was stolen“ there.

If the passcode might be known, lock the iPhone immediately lest you lose control of the Apple ID, too.
