iCloud Contacts' Labels have all been reset

Something happened about 3 or 4 days ago. All the labels in the iCloud contacts e.g. mobile, work, home numbers have all been reset to just "phone". The same for different emails, addresses you have for contacts. And of course it synchronized it across all devices so no chance to catch it anywhere.

This means now you can't tell which numbers are mobile, or landlines or work or home; etc.

Extremely frustrating screw up from Apple. You get almost the same feeling you lost all your contacts and have to rebuild it all again. BEWARE and backup anything Apple
