Does anyone else have an issue where the video pauses slightly when using the temporary double speed feature on youtube?

Every time I adjust the speed of the video on YouTube it pauses for half a second, I only notice this issue with Safari. It can be a little annoying when it comes to using the new double speed feature on Youtube where you hold left click or space on the video because it does a slight pause before and after you do the double speed.
