Nickname glitch

Since updating my iPhone 15 pro max to iOS 17.2.1 I’ve had an issue with weird gibberish showing up in place of the actual nickname I’ve given my specific contacts. Is there a fix for this? It happens at random, on random contacts.

Emoji with the contact name appearing duplicated on my iPhone 15 with iOS 18 I have noticed an issue occurring for a long time, not just on my phone but on other devices as well. Initials suddenly appearing in contact "nickname" field and Messages (new thread) The Title above pretty much says it all - about 10 days ago many of my text threads started displaying only initials where before the full name had displayed. Very irritating. I finally figured out that something added initials to the "nickname" field in each affected contact. I am absolutely certain that I did not do this. I sync my contacts with Google contacts. Maybe Google did something? So, any idea what is going on here Apple? Let the finger pointing begin... :}
