The notification icon on the Reminders App is not showing that I have active reminders on my iPhone

On my reminders app, the one that’s automatically installed, the badge (I think that’s what it’s called, the little red dot on the corner) is not showing up at all. I have active reminders going, but I don’t see them. I have checked in my notification settings and they are turned on, I just don’t understand why they aren’t working.

Check the status of focus. I have driving focus enabled on my iPhone when I get in the car. And it was still on after I got out of the car. My IPad was not showing badges because the iPhone/ipad were still in driving focus.
