Need help updating an iPhone 8 Plus to ios17

I had an iPhone 8 Plus in mint condition and I passed it onto my daughter but last Xmas we got her an Apple Watch SE but it turned out that this watch requires iOS 17 and the iPhone 8 does not support iOS 17, I am trying to install a beta version of iOS 17 but no matter what I do the update does not show up on software update, I signed up for beta updates and added the device, a new iOS 17 version recently came out but the iPhone 8 Plus still does not show it.

any help updating it to iOS 17 would be very much appreciated so my daughter can use her watch.

The iPhone 8 doesn’t meet the minimum hardware requirements for iOS 17 to be compatible with it. You must upgrade to a newer iPhone in order to receive iOS 17.

NOPE. Not on an iPhone 8 there isn't. It is simply NOT possible to update an iPhone 8 to iOS 17. Not using any computer, Mac or PC. iPhone 8 simply doesn't have the hardware required to run iOS 17.

Forget about Beta, that's a preview, not a finished version.

The iPhone 8 Plus cannot run iOS 17.

If you want to run iOS 17, you will need an iPhone XR or higher model.

End of story.

Whether you use beta or a regular version of iOS 17, it can not be installed on an iPhone 8.

Thank you guys, I guess I watch too much YouTube, that’s where I saw quite of few guys saying it was possible using beta, I’ll stop trying and make the extra effort to get a newer phone.

You can watch YouTube videos which claim the earth is flat too. Not everything you watch is factual. Good idea to stop trying to load iOS 17 (any version) on an iPhone which cannot run it at all.
